My Little Angel
Little kids are innocent little angels roaming the Earth. They can teach you valuable lessons without them knowing it. These are what I have learned from an afternoon of shopping with my four year old son, Wade.
Wade taught me not to be selfish and to love and think of others.
I walked into the grocery store thinking of what I needed to buy for myself and my son when he said "Let's buy Tatay (We call our grandfather Tatay) boonana (That's how he pronounces banana)." He tried to pick up the bananas but they were too heavy for him. I picked them up and put them in our cart. Then he said to me "There. That's for Tatay."
Wade taught me to be grateful and express my thanks.
His first ever day at school will be on Monday. I bought school supplies for him. We were ready to leave the store when he said "Let's go back." We went back to the store where he picked a Ben 10 pencil set. He gave it to me so I can pay for them. On our way to the cashier, he said loudly and happily "Thank you, Mommy!"
I don't recall a time I ever said 'Thank you' to my Mom.
That afternoon, a four year old taught an adult how to show love.
